Mayor of Kingstown Season 5 Will Be the Final Chapter for Paramount+ Series

Paramount+ has confirmed that Mayor of Kingstown Season 5 will be the final season of the streaming drama series. Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the show is set to conclude its run following a narrative arc that picks up after the violent events of Season 4.

When does Season 5 take place and what is the plot?

Season 5 follows the violent events of Season 4, which were specifically triggered by the murder of Mike McLusky's sister-in-law, Tracy McLusky, played by Nishi Munshi, according to reports by Paramount+ and Primetimer. Following Tracy's murder, Mike and Kyle McLusky take revenge against Merle Callahan. Primetimer reported that this revenge plot draws the unwanted attention of FBI Agent Russell Hardy, a new series regular played by David Morse.

Who is in the cast and crew?

Jeremy Renner returns to lead the cast as Mike McLusky, the central fixer and moral lightning rod of the series. The ensemble cast features returning characters and new additions:

• Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky
• Edie Falco as Nina Hobbs, the Kingstown prison warden
• David Morse as FBI agent Russell Hardy
• Hugh Dillon as Ian Ferguson, a police detective and co-creator
• Laura Benanti as Cindy Stephens
• Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky
• Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin “Bunny” Washington
• Derek Webster as Stevie Necar
• Necar Zadegan as Evelyn Foley
• Nichole Galicia as Rebecca
• Lennie James as Frank Moses
• Nishi Munshi as Tracy McLusky

The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. Executive producers include Taylor Sheridan, Hugh Dillon, Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Wendy Ris, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox.

How many episodes will there be?

Season 5 will consist of eight episodes, bringing the series to a total of 48 episodes by the end of its run, according to Paramount+ materials. Production for the final season began in March 2026 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and filming concluded in July 2026.

Where can you stream the series?

Seasons 1 through 4 are available to stream on Netflix following a non-exclusive licensing deal that added 40 episodes to the platform on October 5, 2026, as reported by Primetimer citing Forbes. However, Season 5 will stream exclusively on Paramount+ and is not part of the Netflix licensing agreement. Taylor Sheridan's overall deal with Paramount is set to end in 2028 before a move to NBCUniversal takes effect.

When is the release date?

An official release date has not yet been announced. Paramount+ stated in August 2026 and Primetimer noted in October 2026 that the premiere date remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, Men's Journal estimated a possible release at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027 based on external sources, though that timing is speculative.
